2008 Seadoo RXT 215 - Reliable? Worth it?
I was at the local dealership today looking to purchase my first ski. They have a deal running on a brand new 2008 RXT 215 for $8999 with trailer. I had previously only been looking at Yamahas. So I'm wondering if any of you can give me some advice as to whether or not this a good deal for this particular year and model? Also, does anyone have an experience riding this ski? How was the reliability? Fuel Consumption? etc.? I remember reading that the RXP had all sorts of problems with ceramic washers on the super chargers, does anyone know if the RXT has those same problems?
Any advice would be well appreciated!
Thanks,Kevin

The only real issues with those are that the supercharger needs rebuilt every 100 hours. Other than that they're pretty bulletproof and the RXP is faster than any other stock oem pwc out there. With slight mods, they're even faster. No matter what ski you choose, get an extended warranty and you'll be ok.

That price is very good.....it would be excellent if it was the "out the door" price. Look at pwctraderonline.com to see what the market is on '08 leftover units.
If you maintain the RXT well (oil changes, let it warm up before nailing it, ect.) it should be very reliable. Sea-Doo changed to metal SC washers on the 2008 models.Last edited by fastexas; 03-23-2009 at 12:40 PM.
